Some parents put forward the view that their child's school provides enough learning and that tuition is not necessary.

I reply that top performers in sport, stage and business have tuition to improve results. Success is obtained from a disciplined program of continuous improvement, where they are striving for personal best performance.

In the same way students need to revisit what is taught in school to practice what is taught. All students have weaknesses in understanding of parts of topics in mathematics and English.

At Lighthouse Tuition our aim is to help all students to achieve their personal best in the subject being studied.

Who gets tutored?

Generally the enrolled students can be broken into 3 main types.

High Flyers:

advanced students who are coming top or near top, of their class and they need to be challenged by extension work to keep them working at a level of excellence.

'Average' Students:

who with additional help and improved understanding can connect with the subject matter and have a greater clarity of the content and their results can really 'take off'....how high can they fly?

Strugglers:

are students who have difficulty in understanding the subject matter through reading, numeracy and other weaknesses. They have to work hard to learn the content and concepts being taught at school. Often they forget, all, or part of the key areas.

For all students in each of the above 3 areas we see improved results. Physical signs of an inner change in self-belief. They develop an 'I can do it !' view towards the subject.

Success is often 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.
